Our organization provides primary care, behavioral health, dental, care coordination, and enabling services to patients across all ages and backgrounds. We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and community-focused Chief Executive Officer to lead
our health center into its next chapter of growth and service.
Position Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational effectiveness of the health center. The CEO ensures high‑quality care, financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and strong partnerships with patients, staff, community members and agencies, and the Board of Directors. This role requires a leader who understands the unique opportunities and challenges of rural health care and is committed to advancing health equity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the health center.
- Ensure compliance with HRSA Health Center Program Requirements, CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and all
federal and state regulations. - Oversee clinical, operational, financial, and administrative functions to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered
care. - Lead organizational planning, quality improvement, and performance management initiatives.
- Strengthen community partnerships and advocacy efforts.
- Support a culture of safety, accountability, and staff engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, providing timely and accurate reporting.
- Ensure financial stewardship, including budgeting, revenue cycle oversight, and grant management.
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health administration, public health, business administration, or related field.
- The Board recognizes that effective FQHC leadership can be demonstrated through a combination of formal
education, professional training, and substantial experience in healthcare or community health settings. - Equivalent combinations of relevant executive‑level experience, progressive leadership responsibility, and
specialized training may be considered in place of the stated degree requirements. - Candidates must be able to demonstrate the knowledge, competencies, and leadership capacity necessary to
fulfill all HRSA Health Center Program Requirements and to successfully oversee the clinical, operational,
financial, and compliance functions of the organization. - Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in rural health setting, preferably in a Federally Qualified
Health Center with HRSA-funded programs or similar environment including familiarity with value-based care,
population health, and rural health systems. - Demonstrated experience in operations, finance, compliance, or clinical administration.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, and organizational leadership skills.
- Experience working with a governing Board of Directors.

Work Environment
This position is based in a rural community and requires on‑site leadership presence. Frequent travel for meetings, conferences, and community engagement is required.
